August Burns Red, Pennsylvania’s sensational metalcore artists are bringing their signature sounds to Marquee Theater!
August Burns Red was formed in 2003 in Manheim (Pennsylvania) by John Benjamin "JB" Brubaker, Brent Rambler, Matt Greiner, Jon Hershey, and Jordan Tuscan. They were all high school friends and started jamming together in Matt’s old egg house and basement at the Greiner family's farmland. The band’s been through many line up changes since then and and is currently composed of JB (lead guitar), Brent (rhythm guitar), Matt (drums, keyboards, piano), William Jacob Luhrs (lead vocals), and Dustin Davidson (bass guitar, backing vocals). When on tour, the line up also includes drummer Adam Gray. Their musical style mainly falls under the metalcore genre but it also includes elements of progressive metal and thrash metal. They cite bands such as Meshuggah, Symphony in Peril, Pelican, The Dillinger Escape Plan, Between the Buried and Me, Misery Signals, and Hopesfall as their main influences. They’ve had a stellar career with 7 studio albums, 2 extended plays, 2 live albums, 10 singles, and 12 music videos. Their 2015 single (Identity) was nominated for a Grammy Award in the Best Metal Performance category. Their work has also been featured on many compilation albums such as Punk Goes Pop Volumes 2 and 6, Atticus... Dragging the Lake IV, and many more.
