Sensational industrial metal and rapcore artists Dope and Hed PE are bringing their signature sounds to the Marquee Theater!
Dope was founded in New York City in 1997 by songwriter and vocalist Edsel Dope. He recruited his brother Simon (keyboards, samples and percussion), Tripp Eisen (guitar), Preston Nash (drums), and Acey Slade (bass) to complete the line up and they started honing their craft on NYC’s club circuit. They released many demo tapes and it wasn’t long before they were signed by Epic Records. Their debut studio album (Felons and Revolutionaries) came out in 1999 and hit #25 on Billboard’s Heatseekers Albums chart. Their musical style is best described as a blend of industrial metal (a genre that draws from industrial dance music, thrash metal and hardcore punk, using repeating metal guitar riffs, sampling, synthesizer or sequencer lines, and distorted vocals), alternative metal (a genre that infuses heavy metal with influences from alternative rock and other genres not normally associated with metal), and nu metal (a form of alternative metal that combines elements of heavy metal music with elements of other music genres such as hip hop, alternative rock, funk, and grunge). They’ve had a stellar career with 6 studio albums, 1 compilation album, 1 live album, 13 singles and their latest album (Blood Money Part 2) comes out in 2017.
Don’t miss your chance to see these artists add a unique touch to nu metal, industrial metal, and alternative metal!
