George Ezra Barnett was born in Hertford (Hertfordshire, England) in 1993 and is a singer, songwriter, and guitarist. His musical style is best described as a blend of folk rock (a style that arose in the United States and the United Kingdom around the mid 1960s, pioneered by the Los Angeles band the Byrds, who began playing traditional folk music and songs by Bob Dylan with rock instrumentation, in a style heavily influenced by the Beatles and other British bands), roots rock (a sub genre of rock music that takes inspiration from various American musical traditions such as country, blues, and folk), and Americana (contemporary music that incorporates elements of various American roots music styles, including country, blues, roots rock, R&B, folk, and bluegrass, resulting in a distinctive roots oriented sound). He cites Bob Dylan and Woody Guthrie as his main influences. He’s had a stellar career with 1 studio album (a top 10 hit in the UK, Australia, Austria, France, Germany, Ireland, New Zealand, and Switzerland, 2 extended plays, 6 singles (one of which as been certified Platinum in the US, double Platinum in the UK, and triple Platinum in Australia), and 7 music videos.
