Drowning Pool was formed in Dallas in 1996 by guitarist C.J. Pierce and drummer Mike Luce. They recruited bassist Stevie Benton to complete the line up and performed as trio till 1999 after which they roped in vocalist Dave Williams. The current line up consists of C.J. (guitar, backing vocals), Nick Crandle (bass, backing vocals), Mike (drums, percussion, backing vocals), and Jasen Moreno (lead vocals) They’ve had a stellar career with 6 studio albums, 1 live album, 1 video album, 1 extended play, and 15 singles. Their 2001 debut single (Bodies) was a smash hit, peaking at #6 on Billboard’s Hot Mainstream Rock Tracks chart and getting a Gold certification in the US. It spurred the success of the band’s debut album (Sinner) and it hit #14 on the US Billboard chart and #18 in New Zealand. It was also certified Silver in the UK and Platinum in the US. The band’s music has also been featured on many compilation albums such as Ozzfest 2002, WWF: Forceable Entry, WWE: Wreckless Intent, WWE ThemeAddict: The Music, Vol. 6, and on the soundtrack of the films The Scorpion King, Daredevil, and Saw III.
