Pink Floyd Laser Spectacular, the world’s longest multimedia laser and light show is coming to the Marquee Theater!
The show premiered in 1986 at the Woodlawn Theater in San Antonio, Texas after a local laser engineer approached theater show producer Steve Monistere (who was staging jazz and blues at Woodland) with the idea of producing a laser show. Steve had never seen a laser show, and reluctantly agreed to give the idea a try. The show sold out and there was no turning back. After making some upgrades to the show, Steve started touring it all over Texas and it wasn’t long before it was selling out venues all over the country. In 1991, Dave McConkey (also known as Laser Dave) became the tour production manager and lead laser engineer. The show’s early success was largely due to Dave’s work ethic in preparing for and staging the show during every performance. He’s still the core of Laser Spectacular and can be see manning the controls at every show. Supporting him since 1994 is Lane McConahy; the tour’s stage manager and truck driver who never fails to get every aspect of the tour to its destination on time and safely in the most extreme conditions. Every year, the show is revamped with state of art technical and creative changes that keep venues packed to the rafters.
