The Adicts, England’s sensational punk rock artists are bringing their signature sounds to the Marquee Theater!
The band was formed in Ipswich (Suffolk) in 1975 under the moniker Afterbirth and The Pinz. There have been numerous line-up changes since then and the band is currently composed of Keith “Monkey” Warren (singer), Pete “Pete Dee” Davison (guitar), Michael “Kid Dee” Davison (drums), John “Scruff” Ellis (guitar), and Shahen Hagobian (bass). According to Kid, they changed their name because “The Pinz was such a shit name” and the band soon began to attract attention with its urgent and up-tempo music (often featuring extra instruments and sound clips such as carousel music) combined with light-hearted lyrics. The band also sets itself apart from the rest of the genre with its visual element. Members wear all-white clothing with black boots, black bowler hats and Monkey is renowned for going the extra mile by donning joker makeup, suits with checkerboard or polka dot patterns, flared trousers, colorful dress shirts, and gloves. Their stage shows complement their attire as they use items such as streamers, confetti, playing cards, beach balls, joker hats, toy instruments, bubbles, and glitter. The band’s had a stellar career with 10 studio albums, 3 live albums, 9 compilation albums, 3 EPs, 5 singles, and 4 music videos.
