27th February 2018 - Tuesday 20:00

They Might Be Giants, Massachusetts' sensational alternative rock artists are bringing their signature sounds to the Marquee Theater!

They Might Be Giants was formed in Boston in 1982 by John Flansburgh (vocals and guitar) and John Linnell (vocals, accordion, keyboards, and saxophone). Their musical style is best described as a blend of indie rock (a genre of alternative rock that originated in the United States and the United Kingdom in the 1980s, encapsulating the genres chamber pop, indie pop, lo fi, math rock, neo psychedelia, post punk revival, sadcore, and shoegaze), post punk (a broad type of rock music that emerged from the punk movement of the 1970s, in which artists departed from the traditional garage rock template of punk to pursue a variety of avant garde sensibilities), and college rock (a term used to refer to the mostly alternative music that dominated college radio playlists from the rise of alternative rock - circa 1983/1984 - through the '80s). They're also known for making children's music and theme songs for many TV shows and films. They’ve had a stellar career with 19 studio albums, 9 live albums, 10 compilation albums, 21 extended plays, 11 singles, 7 video albums, and they've sold over 4 million records worldwide.
